ADVICE AND INFORMATION
Advice and information should be provided in the same way as engagement. It is important to have relationships developed if you expect people to take your advice. Advice and information needs to be clearly outlined both verbally and visually. Visual charts and calendars will assist you to pinpoint particular information and outline when appointments, meetings or tasks need to be undertaken.
Be specific and be prepared to provide the same information and advice a number of times. Family are an important link and will be useful to assist in interpreting for the person with the disability. It is important to not assume that the advice and information has been received and understood the first time.
